Gil Elvgren (1914-1980) was an American painter and illustrator best known for his iconic pin-up art, especially during the 1940s and 1950s. Working primarily in oils, he created charming, glamorous, and often playful depictions of women, which became popular as advertisements, calendars, and magazine covers. Elvgren was associated with Brown & Bigelow, a company that produced calendars featuring his art, and he also worked with Coca-Cola, General Electric, and other major brands. His work remains influential in the world of pin-up and advertising art for its combination of realism, style, and charisma. Chuck Olson Collection Chuck Olson spent over 40 years collecting and traveling the United States in search of unique vintage prints.
